Subsequently, agriculture utilizing fertile land became thriving, leading to the establishment of the town system in December of Meiji 29. In July of Showa 29, five towns and villages, including Sakado Town, merged to form the new Sakado Town. With its convenient location within a 45-kilometer radius of the city center, residential development has progressed, and the population growth from Showa 50 to 55 made it the highest in the country. On September 1, Showa 51, Sakado City was established. In October of Heisei 18, it became a city with a population of over 100,000. Today, against the backdrop of a flat terrain and the clear stream of the Takaregawa River flowing through the city, Sakado City has achieved sustainable development in a rich natural environment.
